The Heart of Keswick
Keswick Public School is a Christian, co – educational, English medium school in Madurai, India, affiliated to The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi.
“The central fact in the school is the child. The aim of the school is to enable the individual to develop harmoniously all the elements and powers of his nature, to give him opportunity to use and sublimate all his instincts, and to seek to inculcate an ideal which will have a controlling place in the pupil’s life and so harmonize his powers and instincts, and harness him for the work of pursuing the ideal.”
The objective at Keswick is to provide a full, liberal and comprehensive education in order to turn out confident, responsible young men and women with a keen sense of integrity and discipline, initiative and self reliance.
Keswick stands on the timeless values of Faith, Hope, and Love. Faith in God, self, and one another; Hope that looks confidently toward the future; and Love that shapes our words, actions, and relationships.
Keswick Public School was established in 1989 by the BAME Trust whose founders Mr. & Mrs. M. L. Bright are pioneers in school education. Keswick has grown tremendously under the care and leadership of the Managing Trustee, Mr. Jeyasuresh Jayaraj.

It seems but yesterday that we stood in an erstwhile paddy field wondering whether it could be turned into a site for a prospective school. Over the next years the seed that was sown in the marshy land has grown into a beautiful tree blooming with little buds. Down the years there have been ups and downs, but through it all God’s grace and bounty has seen Keswick through. Keswick is now a senior secondary school preparing students for the Indian School Certificate examinations, spreading God’s love, peace and tranquility in this lovely campus.
May God continue to use Keswick as a blessing to all who enter its portals.

The story of Keswick began with a small group of joyful children and teachers who explored the world of knowledge together, where every Keswickan was encouraged to question, reflect, and engage freely with ideas. Set in a peaceful, child-friendly environment, this spirit of learning took root and flourished. Today, Keswick has grown from that small beginning into a vibrant campus filled with buildings, trees, and playgrounds. Yet the magic remains the same, as teachers and students continue their shared journey of discovery in the exciting world of knowledge.
My prayer is that Keswick will continue to hold the same enchantment in this fast changing world of ours.

Mr. R. Padmanaban
Headmaster
The Headmaster, Mr. Padmanaban is an experienced administrator and teacher. Associated with Keswick since the year 2000, he makes sure the school culture is preserved and its standards enforced. He keeps the school running smoothly. As an academician he uses his expertise in Biology to teach and train students to achieve their best scores. Students respect him for his flexible and approachable personality.
Mrs. H. Tilak
Headmistress
The Headmistress is a very energetic, able and experienced administrator. Upholding the core values of the institution, Mrs. Tilak ensures that discipline is maintained and administrative tasks are carried out. She conducts the morning assemblies on many days sharing good spiritual and moral lessons. She takes time to work with parents on issues concerning their children. She is also keenly involved in mentoring the teachers.
Mrs. M. Jayaraj
Headmaster
Mrs. Jayaraj is an educator and an encourager. She has an eye for identifying talent in children, pushing them to excel in their areas of strength. Passionate about music and theatre, she oversees key events and cultural programmes. Her caring and compassionate heart is quick to spot any behavioural or emotional issue with children. She desires to make them good citizens and better human beings. She is especially involved in training her staff and is concerned about their well being.
Mr. Jeyasuresh Jayaraj
Managing Trustee
Mr. Jeyasuresh Jayaraj is a real life example of gentleness, discipline and action. As a leader and visionary he ensures that the school’s infrastructure is expanding. Fervent about preserving the planet, he inspires everyone to engage with that vision. Apart from enthusing students in academics and sports, he believes that respect, punctuality, discipline and cleanliness are key ingredients for healthy child development. Keswick has steadily grown under his direction and leadership.

The school has a competent, qualified and experienced staff. They participate in all activities of the school thus influencing the children far beyond the academic. Wholehearted about investing in their students’ lives, they work very hard to help our young people become achievers. Challenging them to consistently do their best they give them the necessary support and encouragement. This strong respectful teacher-student relationship makes for Keswick’s constructive learning environment.
